Alumni
Association of The City College of New York ScholarshipThe
following undergraduate scholarship funds are administered by the Alumni Association
of CCNY as a result of a bequest or donation. Each one requires a GPA of 3.0 or
greater and evidence of community and/or college service. Other specific criteria
are noted below for each scholarship. Be sure to note the different departments
at the college, which are responsible for the selection and distribution of each
scholarship/award. A general application for all of the scholarships/awards is
attached.

I.
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP | Supported
by Alumni Class Funds from 23 Classes Established
in 1991 the Alumni Association special interest or Affiliate Groups/Constituent
Societies assist in distributing these $1,000 scholarship through their respective
departments at the college, i.e., Architecture Alumni works with the School of
Architecture in selecting a recipient. The special interest groups involved
in the process will vary each year. Between six and eight of these scholarships
will be awarded each year. Contact the Alumni Office, Room #162, Shepard Hall,
to find out which departments at the college will be selecting the scholarship
honorees annually. |

E.Y."YIP" HARBURG SCHOLARSHIP | Established
in 1990 by Ernest Harburg in honor of his father, this $2,000 scholarship for
a current full time CCNY student in his/her sophomore or junior year. Qualified
applicants must have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or above and demonstrable evidence of
community and/or college service to the African American community. Preference
is given to Theatre or English majors though not required. |

CONSTANTINE GEORGE SCHOLARSHIP | |
Established in
1989 from a bequest made by Constantine George as administered in the Surrogate's
Court, New York County. In addition to the criteria noted above, this $1,000 scholarship
requires evidence of leadership. Apply through the Office of Student Affairs,

NINA MAE MAYS AWARD | |
Established in
2005 by Frank and Nina P. Marousek in honor of Nina's grandmother who valued education,
this $750 annual award is for current full time CCNY student in his/her junior
year majoring in Humanities, Education, Liberal Arts or Sciences. Qualified applicants
must have a G.P.A. of 3.2 or above and demonstrable evidence of community and/or
college service to the African American and/or Native American communities. Apply

SOUTHERN NEVADA ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP |
| | Established
in 2005 by the members of the Southern Nevada Alumni Association, this $4,000 scholarship
shall be granted to a Liberal Arts student with a 3.0 or greater GPA, who shows evidence
of financial need, who has demonstrated acts of notable valor and self-sacrifice
for the benefit of his/her co-workers, community or country. Priority shall be
given to a candidate who has been disabled as a result of such act, or who is
a child of parents who have lost their lives, or their ability to support their
families, as a result of such valor and self sacrifice. If no such eligible students
make application, then the award shall be made to a student with a 3.0 or greater
GPA, who shows evidence of financial need, and who has donated his/her time to

VI.
SOUTH
CALIFORNIA ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP | |
Established in
1992, this $1,500 scholarship recognizes a full-time junior or senior and evidence
of financial need in addition to criteria noted above. Apply through the Office

THE GREGORY H. & SARA C. WILLIAMS PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLAR AWARD |
| Established
in 2004 by President Gregory H & Sara C. Williams this $4,000 scholarship
is for a rising senior who is on track to graduate within four years and apply
for graduate school. Apply through the Office of Student Affairs, Room #A/201,
Administration Building, Dr. Ramona Brown, Vice President.

| VIII.
WASHINGTON D.C. LIBBY SANSANOWICZ ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP |
| Established
in May 1996 by the members of the Washington D.C. Chapter of the Alumni Association,
the recipient of the $1,000 scholarship must be a junior with a 3.0 or higher
GPA. The individuals must show evidence of need and leadership. Contact the

WASHINGTON D.C. DANIEL SCHORR'39 ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP |
| Established
in 2005 by the members of the Washington D.C. Chapter to honor legendary journalist
Daniel Schorr, class of 1939. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an English
major. The recipient must be a junior at the time of application with a 3.0
or higher GPA and show evidence of financial need. Contact the Office of Student

EDNA '40B AND HAROLD '37B KAUFMAN SCHOLARSHIP |
| Established
in 1994, this $1,000 scholarship is given to a junior or senior student majoring

RHODA HARNICK '43B SCHOLARSHIP | |
Established in
1999 by the family of Rhoda Harnick '43B former President of the Broward County
Alumni Chapter, who passed away in 1998. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually
to a sophomore student in the Liberal Arts division with a major in Economics.

THE
HARVEY LEOPOLD '57 SCHOLARSHIP | |
Established in
1998 by Mrs. Beverly Leopold in honor of her husband Harvey Leopold '57 who passed
away in 1997. This annual $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to an Economics major
who is a junior at time of application with a concentration in Management or Marketing,
has attained a 3.5 Grade Point Average and shows evidence of service to the college

AARON M. CANTOR SCHOLARSHIP | |
Established in
2004 by family and friends of Aaron M. Cantor, who graduated from CCNY in 1940
at the age of 19, Summa Cum Laude. This $1,000 Annual Scholarship is awarded to
an Economics student who shows evidence of need and has demonstrated academic
achievement or considerable promise in economics as determined by the faculty.

HEYMANN AWARD | |
Established in
1968, from a bequest made by the family of Emily F. Heymann, this $1,000 Scholarship
recognizes two to three Center For Worker Education undergraduates. Apply for this

HONORABLE THEODORE R. KUPFERMAN '40 AWARD |
| Established
in 1994 by John H. Finley Awardee and Townsend Harris Medalist Judge Kupferman
'40, this $500 award recognizes a senior who shows the most promise for public
service in the area of Urban Legal Studies and has completed an essay on how and
why he/she would like to serve the public as an attorney. Apply for this scholarship

STEPHANIE E. KUPFERMAN JUVENILE JUSTICE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AWARD |
|
Established in 2000 by the Honorable Theodore R. Kupferman in honor of his daughter,
Stephanie, the $500 award recognizes a senior who has plans to attend law school
after graduation with a GPA over 3.2. The recipient should have fulfilled an internship
in the Family Court or public interest law agency primarily devoted to the
protection of juvenile rights, and whose essay has been judged the best during

STANLEY FEINGOLD SCHOLARSHIP | | | Established
in 1993 by a group of lawyer alumni from the classes of 1960-62, this $1,000 scholarship
was formed to honor Professor Stanley Feingold. In addition to the criteria noted
above, this scholarship honors a Political Science student and is based on a writing
competition focusing on the American Political System. Information about this

ROBERT SWAYBILL SCHOLARSHIP | |
Established in
1993, from a bequest made by Robert Swaybill, this $1,000 scholarship recognizes
in particular needy, undergraduate students from the College of Liberal Arts and

ROSLYN K. GITLIN '46T MEMORIAL AWARD | |
Established in
1996 by the family and friends of Roslyn K. Gitlin '46T, this $750 award is given to
a third year Chemical Engineering student (preferably female). Apply through the

BRITA ANN LEVITAN SCHOLARSHIP | |
Established in
1996 from a bequest, this $4,000 full scholarship is in accordance with the rules
and regulation of the CCNY Scholars Program. The Scholars Program recognizes incoming freshman
for their academic achievements in the high school, leadership, creativity and community
service. The Alumni Association sponsors two new students annually for four years.

DORIS '56B & ARTHUR FIELD '55B SCHOLARSHIP | | | Established
in 2005 by Doris and Arthur Field. This $2,000 scholarship (amount varies from year
to year depending on cash balance in fund) is awarded to a student in the Honors

ROBERT E. FOX '70 SCHOLARSHIP | | | Establish
in September 2005 by Robert's son, Larry Fox, in honor of his father. This $4,000
full tuition scholarship is for an incoming freshman preferable, from Brooklyn

PALM BEACH COUNTY ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP |
| Established
in 2000 by the Alumni Chapter, this $1,000 scholarship recognizes an outstanding graduating
senior majoring in the sciences. Criteria include: GPA particularly in science
courses and letters of recommendation, creativity (as measured by independent
research or originality of thought), leadership, and volunteer work in a health
care, social science, government or community agency. Apply for this scholarship

CCNY 911 SCHOLARSHIP | |
Established in
2002 by Prof. Stanley Gedzelman, this $1,000 Scholarship recognizes a science major
(Biology, Chemistry, Math, Physics or Earth Atmospheric Science) who is the child
of a New York City Fireman or Policeman or woman. This scholarship was established
to honor New York's Bravest and Finest who gave their lives on September 11,
2001. The recipient must also be enrolled as a junior with a GPA of 3.0 or greater
and be taking or have completed (6) credits of 300 level Science courses. Apply

THE AMADOU DIALLO EDUCATIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE AWARD |
| Established
in 2001 by The Amadou Diallo Educational, Humanitarian and Charity Foundation, this
$500 annual award recognizes a Computer Science major of Africian decent with
a 3.0 or greater GPA who shows evidence of financial need. Apply for this scholarship

DAVID DORTORT SCHOLARSHIP FOR CREATIVE WRITING |
| Established
in 2002 by David Dortort '36, 2001 Townsend Harris Medalist, this $1,000 annual scholarship
is awarded to an English major who is a sophomore going into his/her junior year and
demonstrates a talent for Creative Writing with a GPA of 3.0 or greater. Apply

LIFETIME SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND | |
Established in
2002 this Endowment Fund is supported by Lifetime dues paying members of the Alumni
Association. The annual award of $750 is granted to an entering student in an
Honors Program at CCNY who shows evidence of financial need. The recipient is

LOUIS NEUGEBORN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP | |
Established in
2002 by Nancy and Lawrence Greengrass '73, in honor of Nancy's father, this $1,000
annual scholarship is awarded to a junior majoring in history who has maintained

NANCY & LAWRENCE GREENGRASS SCHOLARSHIP | Established
in 2003 by Nancy and Lawrence Greengrass '73, who also established the Louis Neugeborn
Scholarship, this $1,000 annual scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in
Art who has maintained a 3.0 GPA and show evidence of financial need. Apply

WEI-TI & PING LIU SCHOLARSHIP | Established
in 2004 by Wei-Ti and Ping Liu, classes of 1976 and respectively. This $4,000 Annual
Scholarship is awarded to an Electrical Engineering student who is a junior going
into his/her senior year with a 3.0 or greater GPA who shows evidence of financial

ISRAEL E. LEVINE COMMUNICATIONS SCHOLARSHIP | | | Established
in 2004 by family and friends of Israel E. Levine 46, who severed as editor
of the CCNY Alumnus and was Director of Public Relations of the College from 1954-1977.
This $1,000 Scholarship is given annually at the Communications Alumni Hall of
Fame Dinner in May for excellence in Communication. The recipient should have
excelled in some media-related activitybe it on or off campus i.e., newspapers
or other publications, radio or TV, public relations or some form of research

McGRAW-HILL CONSTRUCTION'S ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP | | | Established
in 2004 by McGraw-Hill in honor of Frank J. Sciame'74Arch, this one (1) $1,000 scholarship
will rotate annually between the School of Architecture and the School of Engineering.

| XXXV.
The Bob Demas Post Graduate Baseball Scholarship Established in 2006 by
Tremco Incorporated Co., in honor of Bob Demas, who was elected to the AVA 2006
Hall of Fame. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior member
of the College Varsity Baseball team who has been accepted to graduate school.
The scholarship is selected by the Athletics Department, Jackee Meadow, and given
at our Annual Alumni Dinner.

The Amedeo C. Jacovino Scholarship Established in 2006 by Mrs. Jacqueline
Jacovino in honor of her husband Amedeo C. Jacovino who passed away in 2006.
This $1,000 scholarship for an economics major with a GPA of 3.0 or better. This

Eugene Bradford '55ChE Scholarship Established in 2007 by Eugene Bradford
is a year four year $4,000 scholarship for Chemical Engineering entering student
in the Grove School of Engineering. The student must be enrolled in the Honors
College/Honors Program and show evidence of need. The recipient is being selected

Dr. Abraham E. Klein '33 Scholarship Established in 2007 by the family
of Dr. Abraham Klein, this $1,000 scholarship is for a junior in the School of
Education on track to be a math major planning to teach with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or
greater. Apply for this scholarship through the School of Education in the N.A.

Winifred & Joseph Femiani Scholarship Established in 2007 by the Estate
of Winifred Femiani is a $1,000 scholarship for a sophomore with a G.P.A. of
3.0 or greater in the School of Education. The first Femiani scholarship will

John & Rose D'Antoni Scholarship Established in 2007 by Stephen D'Antoni
in memory of John & Rose D'Antoni, this $2,000 scholarship is for an Engineering
school major in his or her sophomore year with a 3.0 GPA and shows evidence

THE WIESENFELD FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Established
in 2000 by Dr. John Wiesenfeld in honor of his family, the $1,000 scholarship
recognizes a Science major. Dr. Wiesenfeld was motivated to establish this scholarship
as a result of the fund raising efforts of the Palm Beach County Alumni Chapter

XLII. THE GREATER HOUSTON CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR SENIOR (GHCSFS)
The GHCSFS is a $1000 scholarship with criteria that may vary in the future and is neither stipulated nor guaranteed. Scholarships shall be awarded from accumulated funds.
Requirements for Award:
The GHCSFS shall be awarded to needy deserving undergraduate seniors, of the City College of New York, who apply for this scholarship, and who can demonstrate that they meet the following criteria:
Criterion 1: The GHCSFS scholarship shall be granted to a student applicant with less than 31 credits left for graduation and;
Criterion 2: Shall be granted to the student applicant who has a minimum overall 3.0 GPA and;
Criterion 3: Shall be granted to the student applicant who has demonstrated a level of FINANCIAL need and;
Criterion 4: Shall be granted to a student applicant majoring in the physical sciences.
